Suicide has become Japan’s leading cause of death in children aging from 10 to 19. The main reasons for child suicide are school-related issues such as demanding schoolwork or bullying. In many situations, parents are an essential part of preventing children from committing suicide by giving them support and understanding their struggles. Sending love messages through bentos is a wonderful way to give your children surprises and cheer their day up.
[ Approach ]
The cookbook helps parents make delicious and nutritious bentos for their kids who are struggling with school and/or having emotional distress. This project seeks to introduce and explain the nontraditional Japanese bentos using ingredients according to each season, as well as the artistic trend among young audiences in Japan. Encouraging quotes are scattered throughout the book to create a positive vibe for children and parents while making the bentos.
